Inspired by history and informed by the way visitors move through and experience Old North Church, Reciprocity’s creative residency offers a revolutionary new way of visualizing this historic site. Through collaborative artistic practice, we investigated both the historic and the contemporary treatment of the Old North Church campus.
Led by Sue Murad and Jenna Pollack, the team has designed guiding questions to link artist and site through creative inquiry, driven by observation and engagement with the everyday rhythms of Old North Church. Prompts focus on formal architectural elements, as well as the visible and invisible conventions, social interactions, and expectations of the site itself. By creating site-specific, immersive performances in non-traditional settings, we investigate how significant spaces such as Old North Church fit into our daily lives.
